This Rant's for you Scott

This past Friday I was invited to go to an event that memorialized a gentleman who took his own life a few years back. It amazed me how many people attended. There was positive feeling in the air for me though. I’m sure it wasn’t the same for everyone. This event was held on a beautiful mountain top and you could see for miles. The air was blowing and the sun was shining. Let me back up. Where this event was being held was near a place that I had some bad experiences at in the past. That being said I had a lot of anxiety and trepidation leading up to attending. To be honest I almost didn’t go. However I did go and I can now say That I feel as if I were set free from that lingering heartache that I was associating with that place. It is interesting to me how we as humans work. We, if we want, can turn such a terrible thing into celebration , healing people and setting them free from pain. I have learned through my experiences that we have everything we need within each other, but we’ve built these false boundaries as a society that hinder us from sharing with and caring for one another. That’s another thing that interests me about our species. we can fly to the moon , but we still haven’t quite figured out how to view others as our own. But we are getting there and this weekend was proof of that.

My sincere Gratitude to the folks who put on this event. I feel as if I should give my condolences to those who have lost, but I feel considering the joy and inspiration I felt the other day that would be a poor use of words. Thank you for standing strong and using you trials to help others. The strength that it takes to do that displays that my condolences are not needed.
