Sunflowers under clouds.
I just wanted to write about some things that are on my mind. Last week I sent off a bunch of film rolls to get developed that I had stockpiled away in a drawer for what seems like forever. I didn’t even know what was on them. When I got the scans back there were so many random photos on them, but the ones that stood out to me were these sunflowers.
I had recently been chatting with someone about Vincent Van Gogh, who is famously know for his paintings of sunflowers among many others things. It is also well known that he struggled with sever depression, so sever in fact that he ended up cutting his own ear off during a manic episode. It also caused him to be exiled from the town he lived in.
Why was this man able to create such beautiful works of art? It’s so easy to say “well he was a skilled painter.” But there was something more, passion, obsessive passion! Art was his everything. If you feel like your missing something in life, search deep down for that one thing that you’ve always wanted to try and just go do it. I am talking right now as a man who 4-5 years ago thought he was literally a waste. A burden for the rest of society. The scraps that nobody wanted. But as I told you in my last post, with help, I was able to turn my life from attempting suicide to being here with you now hopefully inspiring you. I know how it is when your truly depressed. blogs like this never seemed true to me because I was SO low that I thought there was no other option other than suicide.Listen ,things are so much better than they were in Van Gogh’s day. We have so much more available help out there today. Whether it be for mental health issues or If you just wanna learn how to paint , build something etc. There are so many people willing to offer their time and experience. Once You understand that and take advantage of it, You will be able to create your masterpiece that stands the test of time. It can be done, It’s scary and hard to see your that your capable, but you are and you can do it.
Thanks so much, Dan.
